Marco Capra Langhe DOC Chardonnay 2024
Langhe DOC Chardonnay Marco Capra
The Estate
The estate is located in Santo Stefano Belbo, on the Seirole hill between the Langhe and Monferrato regions. The area’s primary resource has always been viticulture: the unique geological composition of the soil and its microclimate favor optimal ripening of the grapes and the acquisition of typical organoleptic properties.
In 1945, Tommaso Capra founded the winery on these hills. Tommaso then passed his experience and wine culture to his son, Luciano. During these years and until the late 1980s, the estate’s primary activity involved the production of quality wine intended largely for wholesale in traditional demijohns.
In 1999, Marco, Luciano’s grandson, took the reins of the company, giving new impetus to the business; driven by a genuine passion for wine combined with an aspiration for renewal and youthful enthusiasm, he carried forward the family tradition and contributed to its growth.
In 2014, Marco Capra wanted to give an even more personal touch, placing his own name on the label.
The estate’s cellar, equipped with all modern technologies, remains faithful to the most traditional winemaking processes. Every step of the vinification process is overseen by Marco Capra. He is supported by enologists Daniela Serra and Dante Scaglione.
Harvest: the grapes are hand-harvested with meticulous care around mid-September.
Vinification: after a brief skin maceration and soft pressing, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 17-18°C. The wine is aged for an extended period on the fine lees with frequent batonnage.
