ZENATO Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2019
ZENATO Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2019
SERGIO ZENATO
The Zenato winery represents a leading estate in the Lake Garda and Valpolicella areas: 70 hectares located in the most prestigious wine-growing zones of Veneto allow Zenato to produce bottles of truly unique quality. This splendid estate was founded in 1960 from the passion and initiative of Sergio Zenato and is managed today, with a strong sense of family continuity and territorial belonging, by his children Alberto and Nadia, assisted by their mother Carla.
The Zenato winery’s mission has always coincided with the production of high-quality wines, pursued through the enhancement of native grape varieties, respect for tradition, and the use of modern viticultural techniques. The winery’s properties, as well as its production, are equally divided between the ancient morainic land of Lugana and Valpolicella, where the Zenato family has joined the “Famiglie dell’Amarone d’Arte” association. The winery, located in Peschiera del Garda, is home to over a thousand barriques and dozens of large Slavonian oak casks.
The success and esteem enjoyed by the Zenato name in Italy and worldwide confirm that the family has always moved in the right direction, betting on territoriality and a modern, elegant style. Today, Zenato boasts a very wide range of wines, among which the Amarone Classico and the Amarone Riserva “Sergio Zenato” stand out—a wine that is a majestic and splendid monument to the founder.
AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA
A precious jewel of Zenato’s production; it is born from a selection of the best grapes from Valpolicella Classica (Corvina, Rondinella, Oseleta, and Croatina) grown in the vineyards of the Sant’Ambrogio municipality.
The grapes are left to dry for 4 months and pressing only begins in January, followed by a slow fermentation on the skins and then aging for 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks.
After a period of maturation in the bottle, it is ready to be enjoyed.
A majestic, intense, and ethereal wine, with notes of bay leaf and cherries in spirit.
The extreme balance of all its components makes it suitable for long aging.
