MONSUPELLO NATURE from Pinot Nero grapes Pas Dose
MONSUPELLO
The company
The origins of Azienda Agricola Monsupello date back over a century to 1893 when the Boatti family already had its own vineyards in the Cà del Tava district of Oliva Gessi. In 1914 the Boattis bought another farm called “Podere La Borla” a few miles away in the town of Torricella Verzate. Here they built the cantina that, enlarged and modernized, still today makes wine from the grapes grown on the original farms and others acquired over the years.
In 1959 Carlo Boatti gave fresh impetus to the company’s growth by buying new land in the towns of Casteggio, Redavalle and Pietra de’ Giorgi, expanding the range of varieties with new vines, building new cellar structures and a modern wine-making, bottling and storage facility. Today Monsupello is managed by Carlo’s heirs, his wife Carla and children Pierangelo and Laura Boatti, flanked by a skilled staff of vineyard and cantina technicians under the guidance of oenologist Marco Bertelegni.
We cultivate our 50 hectares of vineyards to produce a limited quantity of grapes per hectare, harvested manually in crates with grape/wine yields below 55%. This is all part of our commitment to making well structured and harmonic wines that can thrill the consumer. The company continues to evolve in step with today’s market demands pursuing the path marked out by Carletto towards the goal of quality that has led us to the heights of Italian wine-making, with numerous acknowledgements in the various guides.
