ODDERO Barolo 2022
ODDERO Barolo 2022
PODERI E CANTINE ODDERO
Like a natural terrace, the Poderi e Cantine Oddero estate overlooks the Piedmontese hills of the Langhe, and has always vinified exclusively grapes from its own vineyards.
The ownership of the vineyards and farmhouses has belonged to the Oddero family since before 1700. Today it is a historic brand among Barolo producers. Giacomo Oddero was a famous figure in the Langa region and beyond.
One of the Barolo estates rapidly ascending in terms of quality and prestige, Oddero is a property currently garnering great acclaim from critics.
Based in La Morra, Isabella and Pietro Oddero – the seventh generation – produce wines capable of rivaling the great names of Barolo. Indeed, Antonio Galloni writes: “what the Odderos have achieved in recent years to elevate the quality of their wines is nothing short of remarkable.”
The winery is beautifully positioned on the hills of the Langhe. The family perfectly leverages their knowledge of the region and in 2008 converted all vineyard management to organic practices. They now have over 18 hectares of certified organic vineyards.
These yield grapes from which some of the finest wines of the Langa region are produced, born from over two centuries of history: an example of how one can treasure the past to build the present and lay the foundations for the future, through respect for tradition and the utmost care and attention devoted to vineyards and wines. In these places, therefore, ancient wisdom is combined with modern techniques. Moreover, each production step is followed with patience and tenacity.
