Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2001
Biondi Santi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2001
Biondi-Santi is one of the world’s most revered producers and is more or less the founder of the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. They remain to this day as arguably the most prestigious producer in the region.
The estate is known for its unswerving adherence to traditional production methods, using long fermentations with native yeasts and ageing periods.
For their Brunellos this is in resin-lined cement tanks, while the riserva is fermented in wooden vats.
Large Slavonian oak is primarily used for maturation, as well as a few barrels dating back to the 19th century.
