The Winery
A premier estate of the Langhe and Asti regions, La Spinetta was founded in 1977 thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of Giuseppe and Lidia Rivetti.
The winery’s history, however, begins much earlier, in 1890, when Giovanni Rivetti left Piedmont to emigrate to Argentina.
Like many Italians of that era, his dream was to find fortune and subsequently return to his homeland to become a great wine producer.
His son Giuseppe fulfilled his dream, and after purchasing the first vineyards began producing Moscato d’Asti, a simple and light wine to enjoy with desserts.
Moreover, in subsequent years, the Rivetti family began a successful production of red wines, particularly Barbera and Barbaresco, which culminated in 2000 with the creation of one of the most prestigious Barolos available, the Campè.
All La Spinetta wines are the result of long and careful work on the territory’s native varieties, a journey that begins in the vineyard and only marginally continues in the cellar.
The conviction is that to achieve great results, 90% of the work must be focused on the vineyard and only the remaining 10% on vinification and aging.
This is how wines are born that are as modern as they are vi
