In the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits sub-regions (surface mainly concentrated on the lower slopes of the Côte d’Or escarpment and on the plain beyond it) the most prestigious Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines are produced.
In the highest vineyards of the Côte d’Or you have the right to use the most renowned titles Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Hautes Côtes de Nuits.
