MASSETINO

Since the birth of Masseto, an extremely strict selection of the grapes has always been carried out in order to guarantee the highest possible quality. Now that Masseto has its own winery, the grapes which are not included in the master blend can be bottled as a ‘second vin’: Massetino.
The first vintage of Massetino is the 2017: a hot and dry vintage requiring a very accurate selection. It was  considered the right moment to bottle for the first time an extremely small quantity of the ‘second vin’ of Masseto.
Massetino is a blend of predominantly Merlot with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc coming from a few selected vineyard parcels which have been replanted and show great potential.

TASTING NOTES

Born out of the strict selection for Masseto, Massetino shares the same pedigree as its sibling.

• The hot and dry vintage shows in a dark colour
• and rich and ripe aromatics, dominated by stewed plums and blackberries.
• The palate is broad and rich, with a remarkable freshness and firmness of structure.
