SAN MICHELE APPIANO Sanct Valentin Pinot Bianco 2022
SAN MICHELE APPIANO
For over a century, Cantina San Michele Appiano has dominated the heart of Alto Adige’s most important wine-growing municipality with its elegant and distinguished profile. The vineyards surrounding this locality at the gates of Bolzano, where wine has been at home for over 2,000 years, possess ideal characteristics for producing exceptional grapes. The grapes are carefully vinified by Cantina San Michele Appiano.
The San Michele Appiano Winery was founded in 1907 and today brings together approximately 330 wine-growing families who form its backbone.
”RESPECT FOR THE GRAPE“
The grapes are vinified in the cellar. This is a process of refinement where tradition meets innovative winemaking techniques. “Respect for the grape” is the supreme rule, and nothing is more important than paying attention to the particularities of individual crus and different varieties, enhancing them. Excellent, fully mature grapes are the essential prerequisite for producing fine wines.
These are vinified strictly separately by individual cru, or vineyard, and by quality level. Indeed, it is only through individual vinification that it is possible to enhance every single terroir. The wine is then aged in steel or wooden barrels until it reaches full maturity.
PINOT BIANCO SANCT VALENTIN
Pinot Bianco joined the flagship Sanct Valentin line in 2001. Extremely low yields from individual, carefully selected vineyard parcels. This ensures that from these long-underestimated grapes, a vibrant, energetic top-tier wine can be produced. Aged in wood, it stands out for its strength and fullness on one hand, and clarity and fine minerality on the other. Its longevity testifies to extraordinary quality.
