The Ornellaia Estate was created by Marchese Lodovico Antinori in 1981 and is located near the picturesque village of Bolgheri, on the unspoilt Tuscan coast. Located near the sea and sheltered by the neighbouring hills, the microclimate guarantees perfect ripening conditions; gentle sea breezes temper the summer heat, and hills provide protection from the cold winter winds. Alluvial, volcanic and marine soils provide a unique tapestry upon which Ornellaia has planted the classic varietals Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot to international acclaim.
