MARCHESI FRESCOBALDI

The history of the Frescobaldi family starts over a thousand years ago and is closely connected with the history of Tuscany. At the high point of medieval Florence, the Frescobaldis spread their influence as bankers, earning the title of treasures to the English crown. A little later, with the flowering of the Renaissance, they became patrons of major works in Florence, such as the construction of the Santa Trinita bridge and the Basilica of Santo Spirito.

“Our Vision”

TO BE THE REFERENCE PRODUCER OF TUSCAN FINE WINES, EXCLUSIVELY DEDICATED TO EXALT THE DIVERSITY OF ITS TERROIRS.

-Mission-

The Frescobaldi name carries with it the on-going responsibility of cultivating the best of Tuscan diversity, through:
• Sustainable cultivation of the land to produce fine wines which perfectly represent and fully illustrate the diversity of our family estates.

• Communicating and promoting the culture of Tuscany and its different territories, through our Estates, our wines and specific value-enhancing projects

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO RIPE AL CONVENTO

“On the highest hills of this estate, which began producing wine in the year 1800, a small Sangiovese vineyard amazes us with extraordinary emotions. At an altitude of 450 metres, the vineyard benefits from warm sun in the afternoon, galestro type soil, and fresh Mediterranean breezes, producing a uniquely elegant Brunello Riserva, with personality and longevity”

Lamberto Frescobaldi

-Tasting notes, vintage 2017-

  • Ripe al Convento 2015 boasts a beautifully bright and intense ruby-red colour with delicate garnet hues on the edge.
  • Fruity aromas, including blueberry, cherry and macerated black cherry, pervade the nose first. However, the tertiary notes provided by the lengthy ageing are what stand out most here. These are perfectly balanced, with not asingle one overpowering the others. Cinnamon, tobacco, tealeaf, roasted coffee bean and, lastly, subtle hints of leather are the main descriptors. Elegant spices, such as white pepper, cloves and cinnamon, round off the sensory journey.
  • The velvety, silky-smooth tannins are mature and compact, gently caress the palate and supplement the wine perfectly. They provide wonderful balance with the acidity and alcohol. The finish is very long and persistent, further demonstrating the greatness of this vintage.
