-The family-

The Antinori family has been active in wine production since 1385. In that year, Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Florentine Winemakers’ Guild. Since then, management has been passed down through 26 generations. This is the result, naturally, of innovative and courageous choices. Despite this, respect for tradition and the terroir has always been maintained.

Today the company is led by Albiera Antinori, with her two sisters Allegra and Alessia involved in the business activities. Marquis Piero Antinori is currently the Honorary President of the company.

Tradition, passion and intuition have established Marchesi Antinori as one of Italy’s leading wine producers.

Marquis Piero maintains that “ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit.” Over time, investments in other areas suited for quality wine production, both in Italy and abroad, have been added to the family’s historic heritage of estates in Tuscany and Umbria.

-Tenuta Tignanello-

Tenuta Tignanello is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, on the rolling hills nestled between the Greve and Pesa valleys, and spans 319 hectares of land, with 127 hectares under vine. Among its vineyards are two treasures: the Tignanello vineyard and the Solaia vineyard, which lie on the same hillside on soils derived from Pliocene marine marl with limestone and schist, enjoying warm days and cool nights during the growing season. Solaia and Tignanello are produced from these eponymous vineyards and have been defined by the international press as “among the most influential wines in Italian viticultural history.” According to Marchesi Antinori, they represent a continuous challenge and an endless passion. The vineyards of Tenuta Tignanello are primarily composed of the indigenous Sangiovese and non-traditional varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

From the sunniest part of the Tignanello hill. From the finest grapes of the premier vineyard. The rest is passion, care, attention, and research. This is how Solaia is born, produced with the most select Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese grapes from the eponymous vineyard.

Tasting Notes

• Solaia 2022 presents an intense and deep ruby red color;
• On the nose, it immediately presents itself as significant, where fruit aromas are preserved in perfect harmony with hints of vanilla and chocolate from the wood;
• On the palate, it is of great power, supported by an evident tannic texture, yet supple and very persistent after some time in the glass. Notes of ripe fruit, blackberry, and cherry compose an intense aftertaste and a persistence that seems almost endless.
