MARCHESI ANTINORI Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino 2020
THE FAMILY – MARCHESI ANTINORI
A passion passed down through 26 generations
The Antinori family has been dedicated to wine production for more than six hundred years: since 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri. Throughout its long history, across 26 generations, the family has always directly managed this activity with innovative and sometimes courageous choices, while always maintaining unwavering respect for tradition and terroir.
Today the company is chaired by Albiera Antinori, with the support of her two sisters Allegra and Alessia, personally involved in the business activities. Their father, Marchese Piero Antinori, is currently the Honorary President of the company. Tradition, passion and intuition have been the driving qualities that have led the Marchesi Antinori to establish themselves as one of the leading Italian producers of high-quality wines.
Ancient Roots
Every vintage, every terroir, every idea is a new beginning, a new pursuit of ever higher quality standards. As Marchese Piero likes to say: “ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit.”
PIAN DELLE VIGNE BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO
The philosophy oriented towards large barrels, capable of preserving the extraordinary integrity of the Sangiovese fruit and giving Brunello its characteristic vibrant elegance, finds an extraordinary expression in Brunello Pian delle Vigne.
Tenuta Pian delle Vigne
Tenuta Pian delle Vigne, located 6 km southwest of Montalcino, takes its name from the locality where a characteristic 19th-century railway station is located. The estate comprises 184 hectares, of which 65 are planted with vines facing southwest at an altitude of approximately 130 meters above sea level. Pian delle Vigne represents the Marchesi Antinori’s personal and profound interpretation of a prestigious and traditional wine such as Brunello. The estate has been owned by the Antinori family since 1995, the year of the first vintage of Brunello Pian delle Vigne.

On the palate it is fine, vibrant, distinguished by savory tannins supported by excellent freshness. Long and persistent finish, characterized by fruity, spicy and vanilla aromas.
