Grappa SASSICAIA

Single vintage Grappa from marc with an intense and aristocratic aroma distilled in small batches by means of steam, finished in the oak barrels in which the Sassicaia wine was previously refined.

The Grappa di Sassicaia by Tenuta San Guido is characterized by a majesty and a structure truly remarkable. Born from the pomace of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc that the Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia uses for one of the most important Italian and Tuscan wines. We are in Bolgheri, on the Etruscan coast between Livorno and Grosseto, in the heart of the Maremma made famous by Giosuè Carducci, on vineyards that stretch in the nearby hills, between 150 and 300 meters above sea level, influenced by sea currents and by hills behind that protect them from the wind. The Grappa di Sassicaia by Tenuta San Guido is a great grappa millesimata distilled from Jacopo Poli in his distillery, through the oldest Italian stills still in operation. It shows with intriguing notes of vanilla, cocoa, coffee and licorice and releases its structure, its complexity and its majesty. A careful and painstaking distillation process gives rise to a grappa with greater class and elegance in the panorama of Italian spirits.

Raw material: marc obtained from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon

Distillation: artisanal, in small lots, with a discontinuous copper still provided with steam pots

Aroma: wood, vanilla, cocoa, coffee, liquorice

Service: at temperature of 18/20 °c.

History: A grappa produced from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Distilled in small batches in a copper pot still, this is subject to a double maturation. Firstly being matured for four years in barriques before a 6 month finishing period in barrels previously used for Sassicaia, the famed Super-Tuscan wine.
