DOMAINE COULAUDIN-BUSSY Chablis Vieilles Vignes 2021

Family estate producing Chablis and Chablis Premier Cru wines since 1880.

Although the COULAUDIN family has been producing Chablis wines for five generations, it was in 1995 that the Cave COULAUDIN BUSSY was born, a fusion of Henri COULAUDIN and his son-in-law Lionel BUSSY. Since 2001, Lionel and Roseline Bussy have taken over the entire management of the Domaine.

​In Milly, municipality of Chablis in the heart of the Chablis vineyards, in 1995 the company had an area of ​​5 hectares. Today it extends over 7 hectares to produce exclusively Chablis wines.

​The work in the vineyard is carried out with the utmost respect for traditions to produce fine and elegant wines. All interventions in the vineyard are based on observations of the plants, soil and climate of each vintage, the matrices of our terroirs. Starting from a traditional pruning called “Chablis pruning” based on two shoots from the previous year, the vines are tied, trellised and pruned to produce quality grapes.

Once harvested, the bunches of grapes are sent directly to the cellar and delicately pressed for more than two hours in order to extract the raw material of our Chablis wines.

CHABLIS VIEILLES VIGNES

In pure tradition, the company’s Chablis are vinified in steel containers to enhance the freshest varietal, fruity, floral and vegetal notes. And above all the purity of that particular mineral accent that recalls the flint typical of clay-limestone soils.

-Tasting notes-

Colour: beautiful straw yellow color with evident greenish reflections.

Perfume: expresses a very fresh, lively and mineral nose; we find flint, apple and pineapple; white plum and grapefruit.

Taste: on the palate, its aromas maintain their freshness for a long time. Long and happy persistence up to a sweet and serene gravity. Very fresh, sometimes sharp in the first years, the chablis reaches a perfect balance after a fair amount of evolution.
