When the Franciacorta region was at the peak of its development in the 1980’s, Vittorio and Mariella Moretti decided to convert the brickyard into a winery. Its large spaces and long tunnels where the bricks were fired proved to be the perfect place for ageing Franciacorta vintages and welcoming wine lovers.

Yesterday, earth to bricks; today, grapes to wine

A skillful repurposing, which maintained the original designs, turned the ancient brickyard, Fornace Biasca, into today’s winery. The total surface area is 7,000 square meters, with the renovation plan involving a conservative restoration of the central building, with the ground floor used for vinification and ageing, the first floor turned into a finished goods warehouse and the second floor as a party and event location, seating over 300.

SATÈN – FRANCIACORTA

A fragrant wine, which immediately seduces with its originality, announcing an exceptionally fresh taste. The style reflects a search for harmony between complexity and pleasure.

• Vinification: soft pressing, cold settling, inoculation with selected yeast, fermentation of 20 days in stainless steel, partial malolactic, fermentation
• First ageing: 7 months, partly in steel and partly in barrique

• The colour is a bright straw yellow, with a fine and persistent perlage.
• The nose is fresh and elegant, with clear aromas of hawthorn, bread crust, balsamic notes, hints of pippin apple, dried figs and peanuts.
• Supple in the mouth, but not sweet, it has a fresh, pleasant flavour. The finish is long, assertive and very enjoyable.
