The history of Brezza Family in Barolo

Nestled in vineyards just steps outside the center of the village Barolo you will find the winery as well as the Restaurant and Hotel all owned by the Brezza family.

Proprietors of tradition for 4 generations, we believe today that the best way to represent the uniqueness of our terroir in our wines is to stay in constant harmony with the land and its fruits.

Currently the family is working organically farmed vineyards.

Their philosophy is to produce mono varietal wines and to take more care to better their health of the vineyard.

The harvest by hand in order to collect the grapes at the right degree of maturity.

In fact, this can be found in all the harmony and balance of a great wine.

GLASS STOPPER

Ten years ago we decided to use an innovative glass stopper that we believe provides and extra guarantee in respect of the characteristic of our wines.

Production

The vineyards are located a majority in the Barolo area 15.5 ha, of which 12.5 are in the municipality of Barolo, 2 ha in Monforte d’Alba, 1 ha in Novello, and 2 ha between Alba and Diano d’Alba located in the Nebbiolo d’Alba zone.

Our annual production is about 100,000 bottles a year using the native grape varietals of our region are (Dolcetto, Freisa, Barbera, and Nebbiolo).

The Barolo “Cannubi” Giacomo Brezza was born in the renowned Cannubi cru, a very old land, formed 10 million years ago, consisting of more or less compact sands alternated with gray sandstones

Tasting notes

• One of the best expressions from the classic Cannubi vineyard area, this fragrant red is all about finesse, opening with enticing scents of perfumed berry, iris, rose, chopped herb, baking spice and new leather.
• The vibrant palate boasts structure as well as an almost ethereal elegance, delivering succulent red cherry, crushed strawberry, cinnamon and licorice wrapped in refined tannins.
• Bright acidity lends impeccable balance.
