NERVI WINERY

Founded back in 1906 by Luigi Nervi, this winery is located in Gattinara in the upper Valferana at the foot of Monte Rosa, an area very famous in the early 1900s when the Langhe and its wines were not as established as they are now. This estate spans 27 hectares, including the famous Valferana, Garavoglie, and Molsino crus, in the volcanic area of the upper Vercelli region, born from the Valsesian volcano, with hilly terrain protected to the north by the Monte Rosa massif. Here they cultivate Spanna (as Nebbiolo is called in those parts) in ideal soil and microclimate conditions. The Conterno family took over this historic estate in 2015 with the intent of producing the finest Nebbiolo wines from this area in upper Piedmont. Nervi’s Gattinara wines are mineral, elegant, deep, and possess the typical austerity of a well-recognized traditional style.

ROSÉ

A rosé wine obtained solely from Nebbiolo grapes, with a pale color and a residual sugar that makes it pleasantly fresh and suitable for any summer dish.

-Tasting notes-

Pale pink. The nose expresses itself with dominant hints of citrus and floral notes. On the palate, it reveals itself as rich and vibrant; the freshness is pleasant with an excellent, clean finish.

-Pairing-

Excellent when paired with shellfish and fried anchovies, it goes well with cured meats and medium-aged cheeses.
