The “Poderi Aldo Conterno” estate is located in Monforte d’Alba in the Bussia locality, the heart of the Barolo wine region.

The family that comprises the estate represents the core of all dynamics pertaining to the business.
Five generations of passionate dedication to wine have instilled in the family a profound respect for the identity of a territory and a distinct characterization of their products.

What they wish to offer is simply the interpretation of a terroir through their most deeply rooted convictions.

BAROLO BUSSIA CICALA

The Barolo Bussia “Cicala” is a robust, dense, textural and magnificent wine, very structured yet also rich in tannins, among the most age-worthy of the appellation. A great Barolo to age in the cellar for years.

The Barolo Bussia “Cicala” from Poderi Aldo Conterno is a great expression of Barolo, a classic, ancient and traditional interpretation. It is born in the legendary Cicala vineyard of the Bussia cru and is produced in complete respect of the most ancient winemaking practices of the Langhe.

-Vinification, fermentation and aging-

VINIFICATION: red wine with skin maceration in stainless steel tanks.
FERMENTATION TIME: the must remains in contact with the skins for 30 days, during which alcoholic fermentation is completed.
FERMENTATION TEMPERATURE: variable with maximum peaks of 32 degrees Celsius.
CELLAR AGING: The new wine is racked several times before being placed in oak barrels where it ages and refines.
