The Tenuta Sette Ponti estate covers an area of 300 hectares, of which 54 are given over to winegrowing. The estate is located in a piedmont zone, of considerable charm, already know to the ancient Etruscans and Romans. Indeed, the area in Valdarno, in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Arezzo, has been inhabited by humans since the eight century BC

The name “Sette Ponti”, is a reference to the seven bridges on the road between the two cities. The most famous of these is the Buriano bridge, flanked by our estate. So.. the bridge, built between 1240 and 1277, can be seen in the backgrounds of two masterpieces by Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa and the Madonna of the Yarnwinder.

Tenuta Sette Ponti has been one of the properties of the Moretti Cuseri family since the 1950s when Alberto Moretti Cuseri bought the first 60 hectares directly from the princesses Margherita and Maria Cristina of Savoia d’Aosta.

Antonio Moretti Cuseri, worked greatly toward establishing the suitability for winegrowing both of the area in general and of the Tenuta Sette Ponti estate as such.

The area had gained this reputation as long ago as 1716 when the Grand Duke Cosimo III de’ Medici issued an edict according to which Valdarno di Sopra (enterly within the province of Arezzo) was to rank as one of the four major winegrowing areas of Tuscany.

The love for wine and for the vines allows to produce at Tenuta Sette Ponti one of the most prestigious worldwide labels.

Is it in Bolgheri that Antonio Moretti Cuseri has left his new footprint, or Orma in Italian. This is no simple word-play, but rather heralds a wine estate which he acquired in Bolgheri, in the province of Livorno, after searching for a wine-growing area of absolute quality.
