Barolo 2012 Margheria Massolino

Founded in Serralunga d’Alba in 1896 by Giovanni Massolino, Massolino is a winery that developed particularly in the 1930s, when his son Giuseppe, together with his wife, chose to extend the estate.
In 1934, Giuseppe himself became a founding member of the Consorzio di tutela Barolo e Barbaresco, and later, in the late 1980s, Franco and Roberto Massolino, belonging to the fourth family generation, gave the estate further momentum by acquiring important and prestigious crus, which today constitute the soul of the winery: Margheria, Parafada and Vigna Rionda.
The grapes are processed in the cellar with rigor and precision, meticulously and constantly monitoring every production step: vinification is followed by aging and refinement, carried out in spaces specially created within what were the original premises of the estate, located in the historic center of Serralunga d’Alba.

Tasting notes

Color: deep garnet red.
Nose: dominated by intense spicy and undergrowth notes, with evolved, ethereal nuances.
Palate: opulent, concentrated, with evident aromas of dark-fleshed fruit, roasted coffee and oriental spices. Balsamic, persistent, tannic finish.

Decanting is recommended and serve at a temperature of 18-20° C.

Pairs beautifully with substantial red meat or game dishes. Magnificent also with aged cheeses.

A complex wine, constantly evolving, capable of delivering unique sensations to refined and discerning palates.
