The house of Barolo
Fratelli Alessandria produce wines from their own grapes only, and has kept the family-run management. They have a direct and personal relationship with each vineyards and each cask a sort of invisible thread that they wish will reach and move consumers as well.
“A great wine comes from a great vineyard”: this has always been Gian Battista’s firm belief. He is the one who takes care of the vineyards. In the winery they aim at preserving and quality and potential. This work is done by his brother Alessandro and by his son Vittore.
DOLCETTO D’ALBA
It is a classic Dolcetto d’Alba, easy to drink through every day’s meals.
It expresses to the best the typical fruity notes and a round balanced body.
Fermentation and maceration: 6-8 days in stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature of 25-26°C(77-79°F).
Ageing and fining: 5-7 months in stainless steel or cement tanks, at least 1-2 months in horizontally laid bottles.
Tasting notes
- Color: Ruby red
- Bouquet: The nose releases a scent of red fruits, cherry, black cherry.
- Taste: In the mouth it has a dry, pleasantly bitter taste, with moderate acidity, full-bodied, harmonious.
- Pairings: It goes well with vegetable and salami appetizers; legume soups, risottos, ravioli; veal and beef
