Barbaresco Roncaglie represents one of the first true crus of Barbaresco, recognized by pragmatic farming history as one of the most suited locations for producing Barbaresco.
Located in the southern part of the municipality of Barbaresco, Roncaglie has always been considered a highly prestigious area, among the most important and qualified for the production of great Barbarescos.
The textbook “classic” Barbaresco, useful for understanding the approachability of Barbaresco in its early years compared to the austerity of a Barolo. The nose is fine and broad, full of cherry and wild berry jam, raspberry candy, sweet spices, vanilla, and mineral notes. Balanced and high-class on the palate, with superb tannic finesse, it has a perfect acid-savory proportion and an endless finish; to be appreciated in its youth, yet with a structure built for very long aging.
History recognizes a higher value for grapes from this Estate compared to other plots; the reason lies in the particular vocation of these vineyards to yield balanced and perfect grapes every year, capable of delivering a Barbaresco that perfectly matches the characteristics of elegance and harmony this wine must possess.

Tasting Notes
PODERI COLLA Tenuta Roncaglia Barbaresco Roncaglie 2021. Deep garnet red, with exuberant and complex aromas of blackberries, spices, undergrowth, dog rose, and violet. A “classic” Barbaresco with the elegance of the Roncaglie cru: rich, enveloping, and intense on the palate. Personality and pleasure with a very long finish of velvety tannins and great aging potential. It is a great wine for the entire meal, pairing best with red meats and feathered game.
Vinification
Manual harvesting, destemming, crushing, maceration on the skins for 12–15 days at a maximum temperature of approximately 30°C, and complete malolactic fermentation before winter. In spring, it is transferred to Slavonian oak barrels for a period of 12–14 months.
Serving temperature: 15–17°C. Very wide goblet
