Barbaresco that embodies the elegance and complexity of Nebbiolo, a wine of aristocratic quality. Enveloping and complex aromas with spicy notes of licorice, pepper, leather, and rose. On the palate, it is full-bodied and austere, with remarkable harmony and balance. A wine born from a forward-thinking project, with a long wait that gives it class, importance, and longevity.

This is the philosophy of Ugo Lequio, a small company that participates in the culture of wine, contributing its professionalism and progress.

In the early 1980s, he signed his first bottles, personally selecting the grapes from six hectares of vineyards at “Cascina Nuova,” a farm located in the heart of the historic Gallina hill, once part of the great winemaking heritage of the Counts Riccardi Candiani of Neive, now owned by Marcarino.
The valuable experience acquired over time, research, and experimentation in the vineyard and cellar, have helped make this producer a leader in the quality revolution that, in recent years, has given rise to an elite wine culture.

The belief that a great wine is born over time and that waiting, managed without anxiety, gives it class, importance, and longevity, leads Ugo to release his bottles on the market only after a long and appropriate rest.

BARBARESCO GALLINA 2020

  • Grapes sourced from Gallina cru vineyards in the Barbaresco area, planted on calcareous-clay soils. Traditional vineyard management ensures balance, elegance and varietal purity.
  • Vinification & Ageing:
    Traditional fermentation in stainless steel with skin contact.
  • Aged in large oak casks for about 18 months, followed by bottle ageing before release.
  • Tasting Notes:
    Bright garnet red. Aromas of dried rose, cherry and red berries, with subtle spice and earthy nuances.On the palate it is elegant, well-balanced and refined, with silky tannins and a long finish.
  • Food Pairings:
    Ideal with red meats, roasts, braised dishes, rich pasta courses and aged cheeses.
  • Serving temperature: 16–18 °C
  • Ageing potential: 10–15 years
