Among the slopes of Alto Adige, Cantina Kurtatsch interprets mountain viticulture with a collective vision: 190 families, one shared goal, and wines that precisely reflect the character of the territory. Founded in 1900 to protect small local farming estates, Cantina Kurtatsch is today among the oldest cooperatives in Alto Adige. <\/p>\n

It brings together 190 families across 190 hectares of cultivated land and produces sixteen varieties of whites and reds that fully reflect the character of their origin. A model that, over time, has consolidated a close bond between winegrowers and winery, fostering product quality and the ability to adapt to the most variable climatic conditions. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Attention to quality”<\/h3>\n

In the winery, production is sustainable and the wines reflect their unmistakable provenance, their terroir. The wines of Cortaccia extend, uniquely in Europe, across an altitude ranging from 220 to 900 m above sea level. Here each grape variety finds the best growing conditions. <\/p>\n

Having 700m of elevation difference within a single municipality is unique in Europe! The lower areas are among the warmest in Alto Adige and are ideal for red wines. On the heights above the town center, white wines find perfect alpine conditions. <\/p>\n

For this reason, whites are cultivated at high altitudes \u2013 fresh, aromatic and with alpine character \u2013 while the lower areas, with clay and limestone soils, are dedicated to reds. The winery’s motto is clear: prioritize quality by cultivating the right grape variety in the right area. <\/p>\n

The presence of Bordeaux varieties is a further characteristic of Cantina Kurtatsch’s uniqueness, which has identified the perfect opportunity to enter the red wine market.<\/p>\n

The meticulous effort to produce wines that reflect their terroir creates unmistakable and distinctive wines.<\/p>\n

In the winery we let the wine unfold on its own \u2013 so each wine reflects its unmistakable provenance.<\/p>\n

FREIENFELD CHARDONNAY<\/a> RISERVA<\/h2>\n

KURTATSCH CORTACCIA FREINFELD Chardonnay Riserva 2023. The Chardonnay Riserva Freienfeld is part of the “TERROIR” line, the premium range of Cantina Kurtatsch. The latter, thanks to careful and precise vinification of individual parcels, reflects the great potential of Cortaccia’s vineyards. <\/p>\n

The Chardonnay Riserva comes from high-expectation vineyards that, thanks to low yields and strong character, give birth to wines that reflect and reveal their areas of origin. A unique and singular wine that, thanks to the high quality guidelines of Kurtatsch estate, is produced only in the best vintages. <\/p>\n

Chardonnay Freienfeld comes from the finest parcels around the town of Cortaccia. Authenticity and natural cultivation are the guiding principles in the vineyard. <\/p>\n

The Chardonnay is characterized by elegant opulence, with ample exotic fruit and delicate, refined toasted aromas. The complex bouquet recalls ripe citrus, coconut and a hint of vanilla. Extract and acidity are in delightful balance. The palate is full, with velvety fruit and pleasantly integrated tannin. A multifaceted and elegant Chardonnay, with great aging potential. A captivating wine! <\/p>\n

Vinification<\/h3>\n
