The Winery<\/h2>\n

Winegrowers for four generations, it was Carlo Vietti who founded the winery at the end of the 19th century in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, in the Langhe. In the early 1900s, his son Mario began selling the Barolo they had started producing. From the 1960s onwards, his daughter Lucia, together with her husband, oenologist Alfredo Currado, carried forward the work of the Vietti winery. Alfredo was the first to vinify individual vineyards separately. In an era like the 1960s, Barolo was not conceived as a wine from individual “crus,” but rather was born from the vinification of all the vineyards together. Alfredo’s other great pioneering vision was to valorize Arneis, a native grape variety long forgotten by local producers: the winery began vinifying it as a single varietal, and other producers followed suit, leading Arneis to become the most important white grape variety of the territory today.<\/p>\n

Today Vietti is considered one of the greatest semi-traditional Barolo producers, making masterful use of both large casks and barriques.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Vinification Nebbiolo Langhe Perbacco Vietti 2023<\/h2>\n

Vinification of grapes from different Nebbiolo crus from Barolo.
\nThe average age of the vines is 35 years.
\nThere are 4,500 plants per hectare.
\nAlcoholic fermentation lasts 18 to 28 days at a temperature of 28\u00b0-35\u00b0C.
\nMalolactic fermentation follows in steel and\/or barriques.
\nAll grapes are vinified and aged separately, until the moment when the casks\/crus\/vineyards to be used that year for Barolo Castiglione are selected.<\/p>\n

Ageing<\/h2>\n

The total ageing period in wood is 2 years: in barriques for 4 months for the period necessary for the natural malolactic fermentation; subsequent transfer to large casks for approximately 20 months.
\nPassage in steel for a few months before bottling.<\/p>\n

Tasting Notes Nebbiolo Langhe Perbacco Vietti 2023<\/h2>\n

Fruity with hints of mint, spices and candy.
\nRound and elegant tannins complement a long and refined finish. Robust, intense, powerful in youth; complex, elegant with ageing.<\/p>\n

Pairings: braised meat, game, red meat roasts, pasta with meat sauce, fresh or aged cheeses.<\/p>\n
