An important starting point summarizing\u00a0years of history<\/strong>, passion for the hills of Barolo, hard work and devotion to the land that has offered us so much. In the\u00a0XIX century<\/strong>\u00a0Giovanni Rinaldi intuitively understood the potential of this farmhouse on a hill planted with vineyards and decided to buy it. His children and grandchildren passionately guided the company handing it down generation after generation arriving at the current owners\u00a0Paola and Piera Rinaldi<\/strong>. In those initial decades of wine making Barolo was the protagonist in our cellar, bringing together history and tradition. These two focal points were successfully introduced all over Italy by Michele Rinaldi, one of Giovanni\u2019s four sons at the beginning of the XX century.<\/p>\n

He made sure that bottles of Barolo Cannubi and Barolo Brunate were present on the tables of those who wrote history, for example in\u00a01949<\/strong>\u00a0at the celebrations in occasion of the Italian entry into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A clear sign of how dedication to the Langa made its wine a protagonist.\u00a0In the sixties<\/strong>\u00a0Luciano and Michele, sons of Francesco, continued the family activity making the company grow steadily.\u00a0In the nineties<\/strong> Paola and Piera took over and decided it was time for a more modern approach and internationalized sales; today the USA is the most important market followed by Northern Europe and part of the Far East. The philosophy of our company, a blend of Barolo, history and tradition is still inspired by the hill that had charmed Giovanni Rinaldi two centuries earlier.<\/div>\n

History<\/h2>\n

From the original cellar with vaults, the work started by Giovanni has been enhanced year after year by his descendants with extension works in the winery at the hand of Luciano and Michele, sons of Francesco Rinaldi, in the sixties. More recently conventional processing in the cellar has been completed with modern technology, optimizing work but at the same time making sure to preserve the uniqueness of our wines. The result is a modern cellar with a traditional taste for meditation. After pressing and fermentation where grapes become wine in a fast and continuous transformation process, the precious liquid moves on to the \u2018halls of silence\u2019; cellars dug in the hill, where our Barolo is left to age in Slavonian oak barrels.\u00a0It\u2019s here that the tale of a grand wine is written<\/strong>; it\u2019s right here where the heart of the winery Francesco Rinaldi beats. A winery where one can sense the family\u2019s passion focused on making the most of the values offered by the Barolo land.\u00a0The bottling departmen<\/strong>t and warehouse were transferred to Alba in the thirties, a lucky deed by Francesco Rinaldi because the main transport system for bulk goods of those days, the train, had its terminus there.<\/p>\n

Barolo Cannubi 2021<\/h1>\n

Soil<\/h2>\n

This historical vineyard, among the most esteemed in the Barolo area, features a mixture of Tortonian and Helvetian soils from different geological eras, imparting a unique complexity and richness to the soil. The high sand content gives the wine an intense bouquet which is fruity when it is young, but which develops spicier tones as it evolves.<\/p>\n

Vinification<\/h2>\n

Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with automatic pump-over systems for a period of 25-30 days. The wine is refined for at least three years in large-capacity (5,000 liters) Slavonian oak barrels.<\/p>\n

Characteristics<\/h2>\n

The taste is dry, moderately tannic, full-bodied and robust.<\/p>\n
