This is a place rich in history where the vines found their ideal home, in a superb microclimate and with geologic structures that contain an ideal mix of calcareous marl and sand.<\/p>\n<p>In 1989 the family acquired 60% of the historic Vignolo Cru and were the first to bottle this cru on its own as the Cavallotto Barolo Riserva Vignolo. Since 1995, the vineyard plots of Colle Sudovest and Punta Marcello were reborn as a \u201cnormal\u201d Barolo with the name of Cru Bricco Boschis.<\/p>\n<p>Since the end of the 1980\u2019s, Olivio\u2019s children Alfio, Giuseppe and Laura have continued the work of gradual growth and constant quality improvements begun by their father and uncle. The cellars were also expanded: in 1994, a new barrel aging cellar was excavated into the Bricco Boschis hill and was attached to the existing bottling and aging areas, and in 2008 the bottle aging cellar was expanded.<\/p>\n<h2>BAROLO RIS. BRICCO BOSCHIS VIGNA SAN GIUSEPPE<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Vinification:<\/strong>\u00a0fermented with indigenous yeasts, macerated with submerged cap for 20-35 days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ageing:<\/strong>\u00a0Traditional in Slavonian Oak Casks for 4-5 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bottle Ageing:<\/strong>\u00a012 months before release into the market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Organoleptic Characteristics:<\/strong>\u00a0From this cru come wines of great structure but with elegance and complexity. The initial perfumes are fruity and followed by floral aspects, then spices, all open and intense. Generally excellent cellaring potential.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gastronomic Accompaniment:<\/strong>\u00a0This wine finds its best matches at the table, with first courses of prosciutto, salami, Alba beef tartare and vitello tonnato. The wine is best with second courses of red meat in general, but also grilled fish or white meats, or with hard and aged cheeses.
