The Elvio Cogno Winery produces the principle wines of the Langhe. The winery owns about fifteen hectares of vineyard property in Novello, one of eleven townships in the province of Cuneo in which Barolo DOCG production is allowed.<\/em><\/p>\n

The hills are world-renowned for their history, culture, and beauty, and they were recently recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage.<\/em><\/p>\n

In the footsteps of its founder Elvio Cogno, today Nadia Cogno and Valter Fissore direct the winery with four generations of winemakers and vine growers, dedicated to obtaining excellence that begins with the unique\u00a0terroir<\/b>\u00a0to create wines that are famous throughout the world for their elegance, texture, and balance.<\/p>\n

With four Barolo labels and eleven and a half hectares of vineyards in Ravera, Cogno is the most important producer of the Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva (MeGA) \u201cRavera.\u201d Ravera is the most well-known\u00a0cru<\/b>, or zone of vineyards, of Novello. It is recognized for producing wines that are able to withstand time while maintaining their aromas and freshness intact.<\/p>\n

BAROLO CASCINA NUOVA<\/h2>\n

Barolo Cascina Nuova shows that even the youngest vineyards can produce an excellent Barolo, albeit easily accessible, more immediate, and of wider appeal. Aimed at a broader public that wants to get to know the wine gradually before moving on to more complex examples, it might even be defined as an educational Barolo. A point of departure for the wine drinking experience, it also ensures excellent value for money. True to the history of great wines and the Langhe tradition, Valter and Nadia see Barolo as a select assemblage of grapes from the best vineyards, carefully drawing out the best each has to offer. This is a wine that manages to reflect all the character of a major terroir.<\/p>\n
