“We were amazed when we discovered that the letters of CASANOVA DI NERI, the name Giovanni Neri gave the company in 1971, could be rearranged to form a number of Italian sentences that embody some of our deepest held beliefs about wine and winemaking. Could these be \u2018messages in a bottle\u2019, sent by our nonno to guide us even when he was no longer around? We\u2019ll never know, but it\u2019s a nice thought! Here, then, is our winemaking credo, summed up in seven anagrams.”<\/p>\n

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO<\/a> CERRETALTO<\/h2>\n

Cerretalto is a special blend of intuition, passion and vision \u2013 the hallmark of all Casanova di Neri\u2019s work. The grapes hail mainly from a vineyard situated in a natural amphitheatre alongside a small river<\/p>\n

It’s a wine of exceptional quality, personality and inimitable style. Cerretalto is a wine of outstanding character.<\/p>\n

Vintage 2016 – Giovanni Neri tasting notes<\/h3>\n

Vintage 2016 is without doubts memorable for Cerretalto. The color is peculiarly bright and young. The nose is extremely complex, rich, and explosive. After some time, a trademark note of graphite appears, followed by cherry, liquorice and small red fruits. Finally, balsamic and menthol scents complete the olfactory experience. To the palate, it is deep and generous, with a vibrant freshness which gives it perfect balance. The ending is savory, velvety, and very long.<\/p>\n

2016 vintage is the perfect balance among elegance, opulence, structure and complexity. Winter was warmer than average with some rain in February while\u00a0 budding was regular during the first week of April. Flowering took place on the last week of May with sunnier days, following a mild summer with sporadic rainfall. Ripening process was slowly but consistent, also thanks to the big range between day and night temperatures right before harvest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
