{"id":34760,"date":"2021-09-02T15:05:03","date_gmt":"2021-09-02T13:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fonsvinum.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=34760"},"modified":"2026-05-27T07:11:31","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T05:11:31","slug":"roagna-montefico-vecchie-viti-barbaresco-2015","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/fonsvinum.com\/en\/product\/roagna-montefico-vecchie-viti-barbaresco-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"ROAGNA Montefico Vecchie Viti Barbaresco 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROAGNA Montefico Vecchie Viti <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shopinlanghe.com\/sellers?render_type=sellerview&#038;id_seller=5\">Barbaresco<\/a> 2015<\/p>\n<h2>ROAGNA Montefico Vecchie Viti Barbaresco 2015<\/h2>\n<h2>THE <a href=\"https:\/\/fonsvinum.com\/en\/attributes\/producer\/roagna-en\/\">ROAGNA<\/a> WINERY<\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The winery originated in <b>Barbaresco.<\/b><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span>Since the second half of the 1800s, four generations of the family have worked in the cellar.<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">Several awards won by the great-grandfather date back to the early 1900s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the History of Don Michele Del Pero, Archpriest of Barbaresco from 1889 to 1935, two gold medals are mentioned: one obtained at the Exhibition of the Principality of Monaco and the other at the Last Chicago Exhibition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In February 1952, the family decided to purchase and rebuild the prestigious I Paglieri (<i>Paj\u00e8<\/i>) farmhouse in Barbaresco. Subsequently, in 1978, the corporate brand was created, the winery&#8217;s current logo. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In 1982, the inspiration of the new father gave rise to Opera Prima. In 1989, the company purchased the historic La Pira farmhouse in the <i>Rocche<\/i> of Castiglione Falletto: Alfredo&#8217;s dream was, in fact, to own one of the most important &#8220;crus&#8221; in the Barolo area. Since 2001, after finishing his studies at the Enological School of Alba, Luca joined the company.  <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/fonsvinum.com\/en\/product-category\/red-wines\/barbaresco-en\/\">BARBARESCO<\/a> MONTEFICO VECCHIE VITI<\/h2>\n<p><em>The name Montefico derives from the Piedmontese dialect (mont der fi), which was historically used to name the vineyard plots at the time, and it is one of the historic vineyards of the village of Barbaresco.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Located northwest of the town&#8217;s vineyard area, Montefico has calcareous marl soils with a high content of active limestone.<\/p>\n<p>The plants for this wine are at least 50 years old, hence <strong>old vines<\/strong>, exclusively of massal origin with wood obtained from pruning the same vineyard.<br \/>\nHarvesting takes place in October, usually in one morning, at perfect physiological ripeness.<\/p>\n<p>Harvesting is manual, in small crates.<br \/>\nBefore vinification, the grapes undergo 2 manual selections to ensure the <strong>perfect integrity of the fruit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fermentation takes place exclusively in wooden vats<\/strong> using a pied de cuve of <strong>indigenous yeasts<\/strong> and lasts for about ten days. Subsequently, the ancient <strong>submerged cap maceration technique<\/strong> is applied, which continues for at least 2 and a half months (70-90 days). <\/p>\n<p>The wine then matures in a neutral oak barrel for approximately 5 years.<br \/>\nBottle production is extremely limited, around a thousand per vintage.<br \/>\nThe total number of bottles produced can be found on the label.<\/p>\n<h3>-Tasting notes-<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Color:<\/strong> ruby red with garnet reflections, of medium intensity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nose:<\/strong> expressive of cherry, plums, and sweet spices, with beautiful hints of aromatic herbs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Palate:<\/strong> powerful, muscular, of immense vigor.
