Merendasinoira was born out of the ambition of three young friends who wanted to share their love for their local area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Three young friends who grew up in the heart of the Langhe, raised on tajarin made by their grandmothers and homemade red wine, two glasses of which would stain your lips an intense violet.<\/p>\n

Our grandparents loved making wine, and this love was passed down to us. So, after completing our diplomas in viticulture and oenology, we decided to make winemaking our profession.<\/p>\n

The time we have spent among these rolling hills, working in the vines, following the rhythm of the sun, the intense days of harvest and the loving and intimate familial environment, have forged an unbreakable bond between our souls and the territory of the Langhe.<\/p>\n

It was this bond which gave birth to the idea of promoting the potential of our territory, focusing as much as possible on an oenogastronomic experience that respects the local traditions and the DNA of our elders.<\/p>\n

We want to share the conviviality of the people of the Langhe; simple, genuine people, always happy to gather around a table and create an atmosphere of festivity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cS\u00e9j\u201d<\/strong> translated from our dialect means \u201cthirst\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We chose this name for our Barbera d’Alba Superiore thinking about our friendship, our philosophy, our days spent together… being \u201cthirsty\u201d means being alive, being motivated, never satisfied and being open to new challenges.<\/p>\n

Both in the vineyards and in the winery we like to experiment, blending tradition and innovation with the objective of making a better wine every time. From this thinking we got the idea of making a \u201ccold-maceration\u201d Barbera. The bunches were cooled down in baskets right after the picking, then destemmed when still cold and left macerating at low temperatures. Even the alcoholic fermentation deliberately happened around 20\u00b0 C, way lower than a standard vinification for red wines.<\/p>\n

The aging happens in 500 l French oak tonneaux for about 6 months. The entire process was studied to preserve the liveliness of this grape and to find a balance between structure and fruitiness Our wish is that by drinking this wine you can all pleasantly satisfy your thirst without forgetting your inner \u201cs\u00e8j\u201d for all other things.<\/p>\n

  • Taste: <\/strong>well balanced on the palate, with a bright acidity which gives freshness to this full-bodied wine. The finish is soft and pleasant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
