Today, Fabio Alessandria is following in the footsteps of his renowned ancestor Giovan Battista (G.B.) Burlotto who was one of the great figures of Barolo from the mid-19th century until his death in 1927.
\nG.B.’s wines were supplied to the Royal Court of Savoy and he was a pioneer in sending finished, bottled wines directly to their customers – rather than in bulk.<\/p>\n
Rooted in tradition, without being stuck in the past, the flagship wine still comes from the incredible Barolo Monvigliero vineyard in the village of Verduno.
\nThe labels still have the feel of those in G.B.’s day; the grapes are still foot-trodden, and the musts undergo 60 day macerations before long ageing in large botte<\/em>.
\nAll this wines are as highly regarded today as in G.B.’s time.

The Pelaverga of the Comm. G. B. Burlotto winery is a very special red wine produced with 100% of Pelaverga grapes grown in the area of Verduno, a small village near Alba. With a nice ruby red color, it develops an intense and elegant bouquet, with hints of nutmeg and spices, black pepper and strawberry. Well balanced, dry and persistent in the mouth, this Pelaverga is great to taste with appetizers or pasta courses typical of the Piedmont cuisine, but is also perfect if drunk together with fresh or not seasoned cheeses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
