The Frescobaldi family<\/h3>\n

For 700 years the Frescobaldi family has combined tradition, experience and innovation with creativity and the pursuit of excellence. The family has always looked to develop and celebrate the diversity of Tuscany\u2019s terroir, being proud owners of some of the greatest vineyards in this region.<\/p>\n

They always seek to maintain the identity and autonomy of each property.<\/p>\n

ORNELLAIA, perceived as one of the world\u2019s iconic wineries, has flourished under the Frescobaldi family\u2019s ownership. It is just one of the estates owned by the family alongside ATTEMS (Friuli), MASSETO, DANZANTE, LUCE DELLA VITE and the six FRESCOBALDI Estates, Nipozzano, CastelGiocondo, Pomino, Ammiraglia, Castiglioni and Remole.<\/p>\n

Philosophy<\/h3>\n

Our production philosophy revolves around Ornellaia\u2019s obsession with excellence \u2013 at all levels. Every choice we make is of absolute importance and implies an all-consuming attention to detail. At no point in the production process are shortcuts allowed or tolerated, and this is how we succeed harvesting grapes that are of the very highest quality irrespective of the climatic conditions in that particular year.<\/p>\n

LE VOLTE<\/h2>\n

Le Volte is the expression of a carefully crafted blend.<\/p>\n

The cuv\u00e9e brings together the best terroirs of Tuscany and combines the Mediterranean expression of opulence and generosity with structure and complexity.<\/p>\n

The softness of Merlot, the firm structure and depth of Cabernet Sauvignon supported by the vivacious personality of Sangiovese, create a unique blend which reflects the integrity and style which inspire the philosophy of the Tenuta dell\u2019Ornellaia Estate.<\/p>\n

VINTAGE 2018<\/h3>\n

VINIFICATION AND AGEING<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The different varietals were fermented separately in small steel tanks to maintain their varietal characteristics intact. The alcoholic fermentation was followed by malolactic fermentation, again in steel tanks. Le Volte was then aged for 10 months, partly in barrique used for Ornellaia and partly in cement tanks, to obtain the perfect balance between tannic structure and an expression of fresh fruit.<\/p>\n

\u201cLe Volte dell\u2019Ornellaia 2018 perfectly reflects the characteristics of the vintage, revealing great elegance and balance. Its nose is wonderfully complex, very fruity with delicate floral and spicy notes. The tannic and smooth texture is striking on the palate, ending in a crisp and lively finish.\u201d<\/p>\n
