The history of Brezza Family in Barolo<\/h4>\n

Nestled in vineyards just steps outside the center of the village Barolo you will find the winery as well as the\u00a0Restaurant and Hotel all owned by the Brezza family.<\/p>\n

Proprietors of\u00a0tradition for 4 generations, we believe today that the best way to represent the uniqueness of our terroir in our wines is to stay in constant harmony with the land and its fruits.<\/p>\n

Currently the family is working\u00a0organically farmed vineyards.<\/p>\n

Their philosophy is to produce\u00a0mono varietal\u00a0wines and to take more care to better their health of the vineyard.<\/p>\n

The harvest by hand in order to collect the grapes at the right degree of maturity.<\/p>\n

In fact, this can be found in all the harmony and balance of a great wine.<\/p>\n

GLASS STOPPER<\/h4>\n

Ten years ago we decided to use an innovative\u00a0glass stopper\u00a0that we believe provides and extra guarantee in respect of the characteristic of our wines.<\/p>\n

Production<\/h4>\n

The vineyards are located a majority in the Barolo area 15.5 ha, of which 12.5 are in the municipality of Barolo, 2 ha in Monforte d\u2019Alba, 1 ha in Novello, and 2 ha between Alba and Diano d\u2019Alba located in the Nebbiolo d\u2019Alba zone.<\/p>\n

Our annual production is about 100,000 bottles a year using the native grape varietals of our region are (Dolcetto, Freisa, Barbera, and Nebbiolo).<\/p>\n

The Barolo “Cannubi” Giacomo Brezza was born in the renowned Cannubi cru, a very old land, formed 10 million years ago, consisting of more or less compact sands alternated with gray sandstones<\/p>\n

Production process<\/h5>\n

The wine-making process for this Barolo is like that of the cru\u2019s but with a shorter maceration process. According to Giovanni Battista Croce, Nebbiolo name derives from the transposition of the adjective \u201cnoble\u201d; this is why we continue to age our Barolo in large Slavonian oak casts from 1500 to 3000 liters, and not new oak. We believe that the noble Nebbiolo grape varietal develops its power gracefully. It is aged for two years in large barrels and one year in the bottle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
