FRESCOBALDI – TENUTA DELL’ORNELLAIA<\/a><\/h2>\n

For 700 years the Frescobaldi family has combined tradition, experience and innovation with creativity and the pursuit of excellence. The family has always looked to develop and celebrate the diversity of Tuscany\u2019s terroir, being proud owners of some of the greatest vineyards in this region.<\/p>\n

They always seek to maintain the identity and autonomy of each property.<\/p>\n

ORNELLAIA, perceived as one of the world\u2019s iconic wineries, has flourished under the Frescobaldi family\u2019s ownership. It is just one of the estates owned by the family alongside ATTEMS (Friuli), MASSETO, DANZANTE, LUCE DELLA VITE and the six FRESCOBALDI Estates, Nipozzano, CastelGiocondo, Pomino, Ammiraglia, Castiglioni and Remole.<\/p>\n

ORNELLAIA<\/a><\/h2>\n

The desire to nurture the Estate\u2019s exceptional qualities has shaped Ornellaia\u2019s philosophy since the beginning. Ornellaia is a cuv\u00e9e of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot and the faithful expression of unique terroir developed in harmony with nature.<\/p>\n

Vinification and ageing – Vintage 1995<\/h3>\n

Fermentation took place partly in French oak fermentors and partly in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The primary fermentation, as well as maceration, took place over a period of 25-32 days. After the crushing approximately 40% of the wine<\/a> was transferred into new barriques where malolactic fermentation took place. The remaining wine was placed into large wooden barrels where malolactic fermentation took place. The wine was then later transferred into the once-used barriques during the month of March\/April. The wine was aged for a period of approximately 16 months in French oak barriques, of which 39% were new and 61% were once-used. It was then bottled without filtration and allowed to age a further 14 months before release.<\/p>\n
